From Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

Our loving Father, from Thy hand have come all the days of the past. To Thee we look for whatever good the future holds. We are not satisfied with the world as we have found it. It is too little the kingdom of God as yet. Grant us the privilege of a part in its regeneration. We are looking for a new earth in which dwells righteousness. It is our prayer that we may be children of light, the kind of people for whose coming and ministry the world is waiting.—Amen.

Keep Shining!

Fear is a subject we try to avoid, but is often a common part of our lives. Fear is mentioned approximately 365 times in the Bible. Fear has a way of making us "freeze" in our steps or simply run away in avoidance. In Isaiah 41:10a we are told, "do not fear for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God:"

As a little child, my fear of the dark and what I imagined was there would end with my mother coming to my room and turning on the light. The fear would vanish. It is the same when we realize that we are never alone. God is with us. God is for us and God loves us. It has been said, "fear is a liar." God's truth enables us to move past the fear and rely on God and each other. Today, hand your fear over to God. Keep shining!

Stepping Out in Faith: Embracing Uncertainty with Courage

Life often presents us with crossroads – moments of decision where the path ahead is unclear. Fear of the unknown can easily grip us, tempting us to cling to the familiar, even if it's no longer serving us. However, true faith isn't about the absence of fear; it's about courageously stepping out in spite of it.

The Bible is filled with examples of individuals who chose faith over fear. Abraham, called to leave his homeland for an unknown destination, obeyed God's command. Moses, facing the daunting task of leading the Israelites out of Egypt, stepped out in faith, trusting in God's guidance.

Moving in faith requires us to:

* Embrace the Unknown: Acknowledge that we cannot control every outcome. Trust that God's plan is greater than our own understanding.

* Cultivate a Spirit of Adventure: View challenges as opportunities for growth and new beginnings.

* Seek God's Guidance: Spend time in prayer, reading scripture, and seeking wisdom from fellow believers.

* Take Small Steps: Start with a single, manageable step. Celebrate each victory along the way.

* Trust in God's Provision: Remember that God promises to be with us every step of the way.

Moving in faith is not always easy. There will be moments of doubt, fear, and uncertainty. But remember, faith is not blind; it's a confident trust in a God who loves us and is always with us.
