O God, scatterer of ignorance and darkness, grant me your strength.

May all beings regard me with the eye of a friend, and I all beings!

With the eye of a friend may each single being regard all others!

Keep Shining!

"Constant kindness can accomplish much. As the sun makes ice melt, kindness causes misunderstanding, mistrust, and hostility to evaporate."

                                  Albert Schweitzer

The image of ice melting in sunshine, reminds me of how the world can be "cold" in an emotional sense. When I have felt alone, on the outside looking in, or unattached, the presence of a smile, kind word or cheerful greeting brought me out of my "darkness" into a place that is warm, inviting, and welcoming. In today's busy world, it's so easy to forget those on the "sidelines." In our Christian faith, we are told to love one another. Saint Paul defines love as patient, kind, and never boastful. Simple kindness comes when we are present to others and we put their needs above our own. A smile, a word, and a gesture can mean so much. As you go through your day, be present to the least, the last, and the lost. Keep shining!

Finding Grace in the Everyday

Life often feels like a whirlwind of to-do lists, appointments, and the constant pressure to keep up. In the midst of this busy rhythm, it can be easy to lose sight of the grace that surrounds us.

But grace isn't reserved for grand occasions or dramatic moments. It's woven into the fabric of our daily lives, present in the quiet moments of prayer, the shared laughter with loved ones, and the simple act of serving others.

This past week, I was reminded of this truth in a small, unexpected way, "While volunteering at the soup kitchen, I encountered a fellow volunteer who was struggling with a personal challenge. By simply offering a listening ear and a word of encouragement, I felt a profound sense of peace and purpose

This experience reaffirmed for me that grace isn't something we receive passively; it's something we actively participate in. When we open our hearts and minds to the needs of those around us, we become channels of grace, offering comfort, hope, and a glimpse of God's love in action.

May we all strive to find grace in the everyday, to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and compassion.

We are hosting two major events at CCOP in the coming months, and we hope that you will come and participate! Also, we will need volunteers for both of these days to serve as "guides" for visitors and to help our hospitality committee provide coffee.

March 22: Conference with Guest Speaker Amanda Tyler from the Baptist Joint Committee in Washington DC, time TBD (morning and early afternoon)

May 17: Gospel Concert by Prism of Praise, time TBD (around 7 pm)

Both events will likely draw about 200 people, so we need your help!
