Crossing Cairo: A Jewish Woman’s Encounter with Egypt by Rabbi Ruth H. Sohn

In Crossing Cairo, Rabbi Ruth Sohn has written an exceptional family portrait of the experience of living in Egypt with her husband and children. Advised not to share the fact that they are Jewish, they discover what it means to hide and then increasingly share their identity. Would it be possible to cross the boundaries of language, culture and religion to form real friendships and find a home among Egyptians?

Ron Duncan Hart and Gaon Books have

graciously offered to donate 10 copies of "Crossing Cairo"[email protected] for more information.

Door Gabbai Sign Up

We are asking one person each Shabbat morning to be the door guard. That volunteer simply sits in the back while continuing to worship with the congregation and is able to hear the knock on the front door and then open and welcome folks joining our service. Thank you in advance for supporting our safety and warmth. [email protected]
