HaMakom Continuing Education Presents

New Mexico Jewish History Museum--A Work in Progress

Tuesday, May 12, 7:00 PM MDT

On Zoom

Presenter: Yelena Gurvits

Jewish life in New Mexico is unique. It’s a trifold of stories: Conversos, Pioneers and Manhattan Project Jewish scientists. No other state with a Jewish history that goes back 400 years is without a museum to tell the story to the world. Consequently, people outside of the state and even here at home often have no idea about this incredible history.

Join Yelena Gurvits, President of the Board of the New Mexico Jewish History Museum, for this presentation. Learn about the work accomplished in only two and a half years and what has been achieved so far.

Donate to honor the memory of departed loved ones and support HaMakom.

The observance of Yahrzeit is a sacred mark of reverence for the beloved departed; remembering them imparts a dimension of sanctity to our lives as we join together to recite Kaddish at services. Our noble tradition also invites us to kindle a memorial candle at home, and to make a memorial offering in honor of the person who is being remembered.
