Now Accepting Applications for
2020 Summer Internships
Chesterfield understands that there's no substitute for experience when it comes to preparing for a career. The county is now accepting applications for a 10-week internship for participants to gain hands-on experience with how government operates.

The internship, which runs May 18 through July 24, will introduce participants to local government operations and give them the unique opportunity to expand their knowledge through meaningful learning experiences.

Interns will also have the chance to meet with county leaders, work directly with county employees, attend training and participate in team-building exercises to compliment their experience-based learning.

Interested applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited institution and have a minimum grade point average of 2.8. Interns are selected based on departmental needs and the student's field of study and experience.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 21. To learn more about the internship program or apply today, visit the Chesterfield County's Internship website .

Adoptable Pet Spotlight: Meet Juliet!
With the help of Chesterfield County Animal Services , we're excited to debut a new segment highlighting an adoptable pet in need of a loving home.
Meet Juliet! She came into the shelter as a stray and was never claimed by an owner. Now that her holding period is up, she is available for adoption. Juliet has a sweet soul and a submissive personality. She will crawl right into your lap for snuggles and will work her charm on you to get you to rub her belly!

Juliet's love story involves people - oh, how she LOVES people! If you have another dog at home, you will need to bring him/her in to meet her as she can be picky about the four-legged friends that she likes. While Juliet is working on learning some of her basic commands like sit and shake, we do think she is potty-trained.

Toys? They aren't really a big deal to her. She would much rather cuddle with you all day long! Juliet is estimated to be five years in age and she is a pitbull mix. Animal #558965.
If you're interested in adopting Juliet, visit the Chesterfield County Animal Shelter, 9300 Public Works Road, with a current Virginia driver's license or picture identification with current address and adoption fees in check or cash. Keep an eye on the Chesterfield County Animal Services Facebook page for more adoptable pet announcements!
