Worship With Us
THIS SUNDAY October 11th @ 11am for an in-person, Outdoor Worship service at Clement Park Amphitheater. Wear a mask and bring a chair or blanket. Rev. Jill VanderWal will be preaching live on “It is not too late” (Chapter 6).

A pre-recorded service will also be posted on-line by 8 AM Sunday.

Following Worship, the Party Team and Generosity Team will host a COVID Safe Picnic at Clement Park. All food will be wrapped and we can enjoy lunch together under the near-by pavilions O,P,and Q.
Mission Team will be collecting winter clothes at the park this Sunday (winter wear, clothing for 3-18 year olds including adult sizes, shoes) for their annual Jeffco Serving Kids drive. So, clean out your closets, wash items, and bag them in a bag (even a trash bag is fine) so they stay clean. The need is more urgent than ever. More collections will be on the second Sunday for the next three months: Nov. 8, Dec. 13, and Jan 10 (locations for these collections will be provided later). For questions, contact Bretha Mahe 303-798-4556.
This Fall we are tracking with the book We Make the Road by Walking by Brian McLaren. This week's sermon is based on Chapter 6.

Listen to the book... we are going chapter by chapter reading it aloud. Each Podcast is 10-15 minutes long so it’s an easy listen.
THIS SUNDAY October 11th at 2:00 Rev Dr Steve Poos-Benson’s Installation Service.
Steve has functioned for his tenure as Senior Pastor at CUC in the role of Temporary Supply due to PCUSA rules. Those guidelines have changed over the years and at the Denver Presbytery meeting in August there was a unanimous vote to change Steve’s status to be officially Installed as Senior Pastor of Columbine United Church. It is traditional to celebrate this event with an Installation Service. This is for Denver Presbytery and CUC. You’re invited!

Please Pray with Us
Need Pastoral Care Help? In the area of pastoral care, the Congregational Care Committee will continue to work with both Pastors Steve and Jill in our care efforts. It takes a whole community of care to support one another. Thank you for passing along care needs and for reaching out to one another.
For an item to be listed on the Joys and Concerns for the week: email cuc@columbineunitedchurch.org (this is the office email) or email Jill@columbineunitedchurch.org and she will pass it along to the care team.

For confidential prayer requests: email prayerchain@columbinechurch.org
(this email is sent to the group of people committed to praying for others and the request is held in confidence).

Whoever lives in love, lives in God and God lives in them. 1 John 4:16-18.
