Leo’s Club Donation Bin

The Leo's Club is collecting men's clothes to give to the homeless men staying in John's Place in Mattituck.


Accepting:

  • heavy jackets and sweatshirts
  • new or slightly worn jeans
  • long sleeve shirts
  • NEW socks
  • backpacks in decent shape
  • twin-size fitted sheets
  • gloves

Every third Thursday of each month a HICAP counselor will be available to meet with individuals for half hour, one-on-one appointments to answer questions about Medicare health insurance programs.

Ongoing Events

January Grab and go: Painting on a mini canvas (community service opportunity!)

 

Teens are invited to pick up a mini canvas that they can paint at home. Teens can keep this as a decoration for home or bring it back to the library to help decorate the teen space. Any teen who returns their canvas will receive 1 hour of community service. Canvases will be returned at the end of the season. While supplies last.

Friend's Irish Tea Luncheon

Thursday, March 14th 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

To celebrate the publication of Delicious Ireland, Margaret M. Johnson's fourteenth cookbook, join us for a three-course Irish luncheon/tea. The program includes readings and recipes from the book and a menu of savory tarts and salad, tea breads and sweets, and a selection of Irish teas. A sparkling beverage will be served, and Ms. Johnson's cookbooks will be available for sale and signing. Patrons should bring their own teacup and saucer.

 

Cash or check (made out to the Friends of the Mattituck-Laurel Library), please register at the Circulation Desk.

Snow date is March 15th.
