Savvy Sightseer Video Vacation
Southwest Italy
- pre-recorded video -
| Ever wonder where the idea of a holiday break first came from? Well, we have ancient Romans to thank for that! When expanding their empire into a large part of the known world at the time got to be too much, emperors would leave their palaces and hectic life in rome and head for their expansive estates along the shores of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Naples, Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, the island of Capri and even farther south to Sicily, were among the most popular spots to soak up the sun and sea. So for this Bucket List excursion, we will make like old time emperors and head for sunny southwestern Italy! | | | |
Visit Old Westbury Gardens and the Charming Sculptures of Seward Johnson | Reserve our Library Garden Pass (two adults and their children) to a place of horticultural beauty, exhibits, and sculpture. Your children can race across the expansive lawns, and you might want to take a photo with one of Seward Johnson’s life-like sculptures. Also visit the former mansion house of John Shaffer Phipps. | |
