"Get in the dumpster, Ricky". Our guest preacher and stewardship chair, Ricky Barker, began his sermon last Sunday by telling a story about his father looking for food for his hungry family and asking his children to help. Ricky shared this story of his poverty and hunger, not to invite sympathy, but to emphasize that it was the church he attended, and its message of hope and grace that changed his life. In church, he heard of a God in whose sight he was precious. In church, he learned that all things are possible with God and that God's promise were true for him. At church, he learned how much he was loved.
The work we do here at St. David's through the love of Christ changes lives. Please take the time to listen to Ricky's sermon and then prayerfully consider the ways St. David's has transformed your life. Consider our open invitation to God's table, and the message of hope and love transmitted through our worship, learning and ministries. Then join us in this work by completing a pledge card and bringing it to any service during the month of October.

All Hearts Open Campaign has begun!
Our 2018 All Hearts Open Campaign kicked off at our services last Saturday and Sunday with 26 members of our vestry, staff, clergy, trustees and ministry leadership bringing their pledge cards to the altar. Thanks to our leadership for pledging over $146,000! They show their support of this year's campaign and began to fill up the HEART with a key for every pledge made this year. All pledge packets have either been handed out or mailed to our parishioners (if you have not received your packet, please let a member of our church staff or All Hearts Open Committee know). We are asking all parishioners to carefully discerning where God is leading you to support our church home and our mission. You will be asked to bring your pledge card forward during our church services and place a key on the HEART. We will be providing weekly updates of our progress toward our campaign goal of $1.26 Million for 2019. We need everyone's support. All Hearts In!
30 Good Minutes
Our christian education series, called 30 good minutes, is for everyone ages pre-k - adult. It is held between services on Sundays October 14 through November 18. Register today!

Reach 2019
We will have our Reach 2019 Kickoff meeting Sunday, 10/14 at 4 pm in the Sanctuary. We will be traveling to Uniontown, PA in June of 2019.
Festival Choir Time
Yes, it's' only 11 weeks till Christmas and it's getting close to time to start preparing Advent/Christmas music for all the festive services we have here at St. David's. Festival Choir is the opportunity for high schoolers and adults that can't commit to an every Thursday rehearsal schedule but would like to participate at Christmas. Join us for the first 30 minutes of a Thursday rehearsal and then you are free to go. The first rehearsal will be Thursday, 11/1 at 7 pm in the sanctuary. Contact Jack Walton at [email protected].
