Happenings at St. David's | |
Hello Elizabeth,
We have some key resources in our lives as Christians: Scripture, prayer and heart.
Scripture is inspired by God and is useful, Timothy’s lesson says, so that “everyone who belongs to God may be … equipped for every good work.” He urges us with great earnestness to “Proclaim the message.” We are to share the good news whether the time is favorable or unfavorable. There will be hard times, but are to continue doing the work of the evangelist, searching for God’s truth and spreading the message of God’s saving grace.
In the lesson from Luke, Jesus tells a parable which instructs “pray always and never lose heart.”
Let’s use these God-given resources of scripture, prayer and heart to go forward this week with prayerful hearts full of hope.
Stewardship season concludes Sunday, October 23rd as we begin planning our budget for 2023. Please consider a pledge by clicking below, on your Realm application, at sdlife.org, or by contacting Karen at office@sdlife.org.
Have a blessed weekend!

For a period of 3 months beginning Sunday, October 30th, St. David's is going to combine Sunday services into a single worship service at 10am.
The goals of the temporary change are:
- To have a fuller community worship experience by having more of our parishioners worshipping together in the pews.
- To relieve overburdened worship ministry volunteers who are managing with few people in their rotations (vergers, sound team, lay readers, ushers, altar guild, flowers, acolytes).

St. David’s Church and School has committed to support up to 100 students at two local schools each week during the 2022-2023 school year through the Backpack Buddies program. Backpack Buddies is designed to provide children experiencing food insecurity with nutritious, kid-friendly, pre-packed meals for the weekend—when they would not have access to a school’s free lunch and breakfast.
We need your help restocking our shelves, packing bags and delivering food bins each week for students at Cedar Lane Elementary and Discovery Elementary. With high inflation, rising food costs and free lunch programs expiring, we expect the need this year to significantly increase.
Please look over the opportunities below. Thanks in advance for your support!
For a detailed list of items needed or our Amazon wish list please click here.

Looking for a way to give back? Join Backpack Buddies to help pack or deliver!
Packing bags of food takes place in the St. David's Annex each Sunday, begins at 12:15pm and usually takes less than an hour depending on the number or volunteers. Food deliveries to each school occur during the week, Mon-Wed between 9-1pm.
