Happenings @ St. David's

We each carry the light of Christ into the world to shine in the darkness. At St. David’s, we seek to carry out Jesus’ mission and be that light to Ashburn and the world. In this week’s Gospel, Jesus told the two curious disciples to “come and see.” Likewise, we can tell others about the light of Christ here and say, “come and see.”

We hope you have a wonderful week. As for this coming week, “come and see!”

Faithfully yours,

Fr. Will

Many of these items can be found at the Dollar Store. There will be a box in the narthex and in the office beginning on 1/26. Thank you in advance for your giving hearts. There will be tables set up in the narthex with leaders from every ministry of the church that can help you find a place to invest your gifts and talents in the life of our community. Find out how you can get involved, get to know others who have the same gifts as you, and serve the church in meaningful ways. The Lives We Touch
St. David’s directly touches many lives over the course of a year. In total, St. David’s “hosted” 20,268 worshippers in 2019. The count includes individuals who may have attended only one service during the calendar year – visitors, wedding guests, “Holy Day” worshippers – and, as such, are counted only once. It also includes those who attend services “religiously” (pun intended) and, as such, are counted every time they are present. Over 16,200 attended our regular Saturday/Sunday services and, as reported last week, another 1,525 people attended this year’s Christmas services. In addition to the services held inside the four walls of St. David’s, we also take the Eucharist “on the road” each month to parishioners and others who reside in Lansdowne Woods and Falcon Landing. This year, clergy fed the lives of over 400 people at these services. Lastly, and keeping up with the times, we have an online presence. Going beyond the “brick and mortar” services, Maureen Carey reached over 1,500 online worshippers through the weekly Compline service provided through Facebook. No matter where you are on your spiritual journey and no matter where you are physically, St. David’s Church and School is here for you.
