Happenings @ St. David's
Greetings!

The Lenten season invites us into a closer walk with Jesus. This past Sunday, Jesus went into the wilderness and experienced very human temptation - to rely on his own strength and resources instead of trusting in God to provide. In each case, Jesus chose to trust in God to give him what he needed.
As we walk with Jesus in the wilderness, we will be tempted too - to trust only in ourselves, to doubt God's presence and goodness. If we stay close to Jesus, we will learn to trust God with everything we have and are.

As Fr. Johnson frequently said, God is good - all the time. May our lives reflect our trust in God's goodness.

Blessings,
Rev. Mary Kay +

Becoming Beloved Community
Hardly a day goes by that we do not read or hear a story about racism or discrimination. Our baptismal covenant calls us to strive for justice and peace, and respect the dignity of every human being. What is a faithful response to racism? Our six-session educational and interactive group, Becoming Beloved Community, will address awareness and skills that help us identify and dismantle racism. Led by Rev. Mary Kay and a team of committed parishioners, we will explore racism as a spiritual issue requiring education, prayer, and intentional action.  Meeting dates are: 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, and 4/17 from 6:30 - 8 pm. Because we want to create a safe environment for discussion and sharing, we will not accept new members after the first session. Email Rev. Mary Kay or call 703-729-0570 to register.
