Happenings at St. David's

Hello Elizabeth,

God has a plan for St. David's!

We are so privileged to be His church family in this time! It is up to us to discern as best we can what God's plan is, and to be God's hands and feet in bringing it to fruition.

As we kick off our annual giving campaign, we are reminded of the lesson in which Joshua led the people out of Israel and encountered a raging torrent of floodwaters at the Jordan river. After three days of waiting, he knew he had to inspire his people and give them confidence. He asked the priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant across the river, keeping it in sight for all to follow. The priests took a leap of faith, stepping into the river with their precious cargo, and when their feet touched the water, the water moved out of the way!

Acting out of faith to walk forward through tough situations takes Courage. But the process of watching God at work when we take that step brings us Joy.

Join us for a joyful commitment to that step of faith as we kick off our stewardship season "BE OF GOOD COURAGE GO FORWARD WITH JOY"

Have a blessed weekend!

Backpack Buddies

St. David’s Church and School has committed to support up to 100 students at two local schools each week during the 2022-2023 school year through the Backpack Buddies program. Backpack Buddies is designed to provide children experiencing food insecurity with nutritious, kid-friendly, pre-packed meals for the weekend—when they would not have access to a school’s free lunch and breakfast.

We need your help restocking our shelves, packing bags and delivering food bins each week for students at Cedar Lane Elementary and Discovery Elementary. With high inflation, rising food costs and free lunch programs expiring, we expect the need this year to significantly increase.

Please look over the opportunities below. Thanks in advance for your support!

For a detailed list of items needed or our Amazon wish list please click here.

Volunteer!

Looking for a way to give back? Join Backpack Buddies to help pack or deliver!

Packing bags of food takes place in the St. David's Annex each Sunday, begins at 12:15pm and usually takes less than an hour depending on the number or volunteers. Food deliveries to each school occur during the week, Mon-Wed between 9-1pm.
