Happenings @ St. David's
Greetings!

Our gospel this past Sunday reminded us of the extravagant love of Jesus, poured out for all of us so that we might pour ourselves out for others.  In this Lenten season, as we near Holy Week, take time to ponder the passion. Spend some time with Jesus as his ministry leads him to Jerusalem. Consider what he might have been thinking and feeling as he prepared himself and his friends for his departure.  Then join the crowd waving palm branches as we begin Holy Week next Sunday.

The time for my planned sabbatical is approaching quickly. As I shared in January at our annual meeting, I will be on sabbatical from April 23 to August 5, 2019. My time away will include personal study, family time, and travel in the Middle East, including a 10 day pilgrimage in Jerusalem, "Following the Footsteps of Jesus".  Mark and I will continue travel in Jordan, Egypt and Turkey.  I am deeply grateful for this time to refresh and renew, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with you when I return. My hope is to use what I have learned to deepen our discipleship and to lead a pilgrimage to Jerusalem with you in 2020.

In my absence  I leave you in the capable hands of Fr. Will and our wardens, Buz Price and David Sheatsley, our staff, trustees and ministry leaders. The Holy Spirit is always at work, and God is all over it!

Praying for you all in this holy season,
Mary Kay+

Month of Abundance

St. David’s is celebrating our annual Month of Abundance. We ask our covenant community to donate non-perishable foods for Loudoun Hunger Relief each week as follows:
  • April 14 - Canned meats (tuna, chicken)
  • April 21 - Canned tomato products (sauce, diced tomatoes)
  • April 28 - Healthy, individual snacks (breakfast bars, lunchbox sized applesauce or fruit in juice)
All food donations should be placed in the Loudoun Hunger Relief wagon in the back of the Narthex. Grocery gift cards are also welcome and may be placed in the offering basket or sent to the church office addressed to the Domestic Outreach Ministry
Please celebrate the abundance God has given you
