Happenings at St. David's
Greetings!
“He drew a circle that shut me out - heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win; we drew a circle that took him in.”
Outwitted, by Edwin Markham

All of us have, at one time or another, drawn a line in the sand. This is how much I will give. This is how far I will go. This is how much I will include. This is how much I will forgive, or love. These are the ones for whom I will have compassion.

It’s healthy for us to have boundaries. But Jesus cautions us, by his words and example, to guard against making our circles too small, our lines too rigid. Even Jesus learns that someone he thought was outside the realm of his mission, was actually exactly who he needed to serve.

So often we limit in our minds what God can do. We assume there are limited supplies of love, forgiveness and grace. We decide only some people deserve a second chance. But God is always at work enlarging our boundaries, increasing our capacity to give and care and forgive and have compassion. And helping us draw increasingly large circles, and eventually, no circles at all.

Blessings,
Mary Kay+

Returning to 9 and 11 am In-person Worship Services on 9/12!
We are so excited to be offering two worship experiences this Sunday with both our 9am contemporary and 11am traditional services. Both these services will be live streamed. We are carefully planning to make these services as safe as possible for all present. In that light, we will ask all parishioners over the age of 2 to be masked at all times, and maintain social distancing. At the 9am service, the children will be invited up to the altar steps for the sermon, and will sit distanced. They will get a sea shell after the sermon, and we will help them stay distanced as they get a shell, as is our custom, and bring the sea shells up to the altar at the confession time. The shells will be thoroughly disinfected after every use.

Please be assured that we are working hard to make your worship experience as ‘normal’ and as safe as possible! We welcome your feedback as we navigate these changing times.
Youth Ministry: Get Involved
Here at St. David’s we are called to support youth as they grow in their life in Christ, walking faithfully with young people as they transition from child to young adult. Ministry with youth is a bridging ministry that calls for passion, patience, and faithfulness – pointing out the sacred in the midst of the chaos and beauty of adolescence. In the upcoming months you are invited to explore the many ways we will grow closer to Jesus together.

Altar Guild members are needed!
Do you enjoy setting the table for meals? This is an opportunity for you (yes, you) to set God’s table!! Join a small team; and, on average, one week a month, help set up and cleanup the altar for Sunday services. Training can be at your convenience and usually takes less than an hour. If you are looking for ways to contribute to St. David’s, Altar Guild requires a minimal time commitment and does not affect your Sunday worship time; but is vital to worship at St. David’s. If interested or if you have questions, please contact the office, Margaret Anderson, or Katie Graham.
Meet the Director of Children and Youth Ministry
You are invited to join Maureen Carey for conversation and sharing ideas as we rebuild and grow the Children and Youth Ministry here at St. David’s. Volunteers and mentors are always welcomed.
