QEP Weekly Update!
The goal of Montreat College’s Quality Enhancement Plan is to develop the critical thinking skills of our students so that they can graciously impact the world around them.
The naming campaign was a success! Thank you Kevin Auman and the QEP Marketing Subcommittee who gathered over 50 entries from students, faculty, and staff. Thank you all for getting the word out, as well as for any submissions you personally made. This week the QEP Team will be narrowing the list for a final vote (consisting of the top 3 names), which will begin the week of October 7. The submitting individuals will remain anonymous, with the final WINNER being unveiled on October 14!
A student-focused visual of the framework of the QEP has been created! This tool will be what we point to for campus-wide implementation of the QEP and will serve as one of our most foundational components in developing critical thinking across the student body. The visual will be shared within your email in the coming days.
Additional supports for QEP development are taking place in the form of podcast development, student employees, faculty forums, and critical-thinking-focused workshops. Each of the additional supports will be explained as we progress into their development.
The QEP Critical Thinking Rubric will begin to be utilized next week, as we start the journey of gathering baseline data from our IS102 and GE250 courses. An email containing the updated Critical Thinking Rubric will be shared within your email in the coming days as well.
Please be aware that we will be hosting our fifth annual cybersecurity conference, along with Discovery Day for prospective students. Employee parking will not be impacted, but if you're able to carpool, please do. All RETR3AT guests will also eat in Howerton Dining Hall from 11:45-12:45, so anticipate longer lines and limited seating during this time.
