Join your school and community groups at the 42nd Annual SRVEF Run for Education on October 12th at 2700 Camino Ramon, adjacent to City Center Bishop Ranch.

The event includes a 5K walk/run, 10K, Mini Run for 2-6 year olds, Friendship Run for participants with special needs, plus the Expo for Education featuring a kids’ zone, inflatable games, face painter, post-race refreshments, exhibitor booths, and a drawing for over $1,000 in prizes (must be present to win).

Looking to train with other families? Haven’t run in a while? To help you prep for Race Day, Sports Basement is hosting a family training event on Thursday, September 11th at 5:45pm. Meet in front of Sports Basement San Ramon and we’ll head out on the Iron Horse Trail. Enjoy snacks, drinks, and a drawing! PLUS, the SRVUSD school with the biggest turnout will receive a $250 gift card from Sports Basement! For additional training opportunities, click here.

The Dougherty Valley/San Ramon Rotary Club leads the charge in coordinating the 400+ volunteers who make this event possible.

From greeting runners and helping with packet pickup to cheering along the course, there’s a role for everyone, students, parents, and families alike. Every volunteer gets a Volunteer t-shirt and a front-row seat to all the fun.

One of the ways SRVEF supports our educators is through our Teacher Grant Program. 

Teacher grants are funded from the funds we raise from the Auction for Education, sponsored by the Danville San Ramon Rotary. 

We will begin reviewing teacher grants submitted in the near future and will continue funding grants until we use up all our funds. We typically wrap up our grant program early December. 

Once again, we are partnering with DonorsChoose, a non-profit organization that connects public school educators in need of classroom materials, supplies, and experiences with donors throughout the country.  

In the past we have funded tens of thousands of dollars in grants, making a difference to hundreds of classrooms, and impacting the learning of thousands of our students.

2025 Affiliates hit the ground running

Our 35 school affiliates are busy planning for another school year.  

Each school has its own Ed Fund/Academic Boosters that raises funds by collecting donations, searching for matching funds from employers and holding events and programs – all with the common goal of helping their local school achieve greatness. Each operates independently, working closely with their local school administrators to prioritize what will best serve their individual school needs. 

The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, as the umbrella organization for our school Affiliates, provides advice, training, and support to each of them. Each of our Board Members serves as a liaison to one or more schools attends their meetings, and shares information. SRVEF hosts monthly affiliate meetings where we bring guest speakers, provide time to collaborate, and conduct training sessions.  

On Monday, August 25th we kicked off the new year with an in-person Affiliate meeting at the Professional Development Center, located at Los Cerros Middle School. Superintendent, CJ Cammack joined us to provide updates for the coming year. We also shared updates on SRVEF, provided a bit of training, and had a chance to meet and share how the new year was going with each other.    

We had a full house and are all excited for a wonderful 2025-2026 school year.

This long-standing community tradition raises critical funds for educational programs and support that serve learners of all ages throughout the San Ramon Valley and beyond.

Dear Community Members,

I am pleased to share that the school year is off to a smooth start. It’s been wonderful to feel the energy of students back on our campuses and I am grateful to our district and site staff who worked tirelessly to prepare for their return. Everyone seems to be finding their rhythm and settling into the routine of being back at school.

While there is much to celebrate, we also remain mindful of student safety on and near our school campuses. Arrival or dismissal times are always a time and place we must remain vigilant about safety for all students. One helpful step in ensuring safety remains a priority is to review the laws governing e-bikes and e-scooters and to ensure that students understand and follow road safety rules. Anyone riding an e-scooter is required to have a valid driver’s license. For this reason, e-scooters are not allowed on elementary and middle school campuses. This short slide deck contains helpful, detailed information.

SRVUSD continues to prioritize student voice in our decision-making and, when asked, our students are very eager to contribute! We recently invited high school students to consider joining a district committee (Deep Learning and Innovation, Social Emotional Wellness, Equity, Technology or Arts Advisory). The students responded enthusiastically, with 70 applications submitted. This willingness to participate reflects a trust that their voices are valued and respected.

We look forward to district-wide participation in the Run for Education Spirit Day on Friday, September 12th. It’s a fun opportunity for students and staff to show their spirit and help build excitement for the Run for Education. We are grateful to all the SRVEF members who devote hours, days, weeks and months to make this event a success. The district is working diligently to help promote the Run to our families and community- myself included. Please check out my RFE video!



Finally, our new cell phone policy has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback from staff and administrators. The consistent structure and expectations are helping students stay more engaged and focused during instructional time.
