Meet Dinesh Govindarao,

SRVEF Board Member and SRVUSD Alum

Dinesh Govindarao - Pic.jpeg

After moving to San Ramon when he was 9 years old, Dinesh attended several SRVUSD elementary schools - Neil Armstrong, Montevideo, and Bollinger Canyon. He is a California High School alum. During his high school years, Dinesh was the team captain on the Varsity tennis team and was involved in the high school band. After graduating from Cal High, he continued his education in the Bay Area at U.C. Berkeley where he majored in Genetics and minored in Business. He then pursued his dream to become a doctor and went to medical school in Philadelphia. After receiving his medical degree Dinesh obtained a Master’s in Public Health at UCLA during his residency.

After his daughter was born in Southern California, Dinesh moved back to San Ramon to raise his family. He believes in the strong education the San Ramon Valley system provides and wants his children to grow up in this learning environment as well. All of Dinesh's children have attended schools in the SRVUSD. Two of his daughters graduated from Dougherty Valley High School. He currently has a senior and a freshman at DVHS.

Dinesh is passionate about education and joined SRVEF to give back to his community, the community that provided him and his four children an outstanding education and gave them so many wonderful opportunities. Through his many years of coaching, he's seen the positive impact of the SRVUSD schooling system on hundreds of kids. Dinesh feels honored to be serving our wonderful community and outstanding school district.

Vocational / Education Career Fair

Each year many graduates from the San Ramon Valley Unified School District enter the workforce and search for their career paths. Many of our students spend time thinking and learning about careers and post-secondary options. To further their exploration, the SELPA Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is planning a Vocational/Education Career Fair.

Your participation in what we hope to be our first annual Vocational/Education Career Fair will help our students make informed decisions, building a strong community and a better world.

When:  April 14, 2022, 4:00pm - 7:00pm

A Note from Gary Alpert,

President of SRVEF Board of Directors

Dear Friends of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation

As we turn our attention to 2022, I’d like to share some of the plans developing for this year.

Our primary goals for 2022 are to continue to serve our San Ramon Valley School Community. Our pillars will continue to guide us:

  • Investing in Education
  • Supporting Parent Organizations
  • Creating Community

Many of our traditional events have been altered in significant ways and our ability to meet our goals, including our financial goals has been impacted. This year, as we all slowly return to normal, SRVEF plans to do the same. We believe it will be safe to return to many of our live events that have been put on hold or converted to virtual. Of course, we will follow all Contra Costa County health guidelines, with safety always a priority.

We are very excited to reintroduce several live events in the coming months. Watch for additional details by visiting www.srvef.org:

  • Science Fair – March 26 - This program is the culmination of our yearlong Science Alliance Program.

  • The Night with the Stars – April 18 – This event honors our hard-working affiliates, their board and a “Shining Star” from each of our schools. They do a tremendous amount of work in support of the individual schools.

  • Run for Education and Expo for Education – October 8th and 9th - Mark your calendar for the 39th Annual Run for Education.

Lastly, I’d like to highlight our 2021 Season of Giving Campaign. Our campaign was dedicated to supporting the Visual Arts in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. Expanding programs in the Arts is essential for our students. They teach innumerable lessons—practice makes perfect, small differences can have large effects, and collaboration leads to creativity. The arts also teach children that there are several paths to take when approaching problems and that all problems can have more than one solution.

While last year’s campaign has closed, there are many more programs that we are hoping to fund – Science, Technology, Teacher Learning, Music, and more. If you haven’t already done so, please consider donating to the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation. You can do so by going to www.srvef.org/donate. Any amount is appreciated!

Have any ideas or suggestions? Our Board is always interested in learning from our Community. Please share them by contacting us at info@SRVEF.org
