Thank you so much! The 40th Annual Run for Education was made possible by YOU! You registered, you showed up, you walked or ran, and you had fun along with our 500 volunteers, sponsors, and dedicated Run for Education Committee members.
Had a blast and can’t wait to do it again? Registration is now open for our 41st Annual Run for Education with special pricing for a limited time. From now until Monday, October 30, we’ve rolled back prices to just $25 for Friendship, Mini and 5K, and $35 for the 10K. That’s a savings of 55% on the 5K and 50% on the 10K!!! With our special pricing and group discount of 5% off four or more registrations, a family of four can register for under $100!
Too far ahead to plan? Not sure if you will be in town? No worries - Register anyway! Every registration helps support our schools. The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation works collaboratively with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District to identify the highest priority needs within our schools. In recent years SRVEF has awarded grants for teachers, supported STEAM programs, provided hundreds of books for classroom libraries, acquired supplies for dozens of teachers, purchased musical instruments, and funded professional development for our district's educators with the proceeds from The Run.

Attention Friends of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation...
The Online Auction for Education is coming November 1-9, 2023, and the San Ramon Rotary Club is now accepting auction item donations for this year’s online auction. This is a great way to promote a local business and show that you support local education!
We accept all typical auction items including sports tickets and memorabilia, golf certificates and of course, gift cards or certificates for local shopping and restaurants. Complementing the Run for Education, the Online Auction for Education is the San Ramon Rotary Club’s biggest and most visible fundraiser of the year.

Culture in the Community Celebration
This exciting event will feature multicultural performances, music, art, activities, and food from around the world. Watch as the San Ramon Community Center comes alive with international performances, cultural booths, children’s activities, passports, and prizes. Take a staycation to the wonderfully diverse world in our own backyard. Attendees are encouraged to wear attire representative of their country of origin/heritage or clothing from any country of interest. Admission and parking are free.

State of the School District | |
Please join us for the State of the School District Breakfast presented by the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation (SRVEF) and the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD), in collaboration with the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce and the San Ramon Chamber of Commerce, this event will feature updates from Superintendent Dr. John Malloy and special guest speaker Dr. Sabba Quidwai, who will give a keynote on “Designing Schools in the Age of AI”. We will also be recognizing the “30 Under 30” SRVUSD Alumni honorees.
Dr. Sabba Quidwai is a former high school teacher and education executive at Apple. Dr. Quidwai now works with organizations to design schools that give young people the mindset and skills to thrive in workplaces and as global citizens. Advocacy Day: October 27th
We've all faced many challenges in our schools and communities recently. Recognizing that, our focus this year will be on putting children and families first by encouraging connection, community, and civility. We are hoping to help our families and schools come together so we can all help our children thrive. Because after all...it's about the kids.
Join parents, students, educators, elected officials, and community members for an informative and thought-provoking day as we explore important topics related to TK to 12+ public education.
- Special guest, Tony Thurmond, State Superintendent of Public Instruction will deliver the keynote address.
- This will be followed by a panel of local superintendents, (Malloy (SRVUSD), Haglund (Pleasanton), Nickerson (Acalanes), Funk (Dublin), Parks (Moraga), Stevens (Lafayette)) and moderated by John Fensterwald, Editor-At-Large for EdSource.
- The afternoon will include:
- A Mental Health & AB 988 Panel with Paige Meyer, Fire Chief San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District & community mental health experts.
- A "Boots On The Ground" panel, moderated by Krista Glaser, JD, features Kathy Crosthwait of Sycamore Valley Elementary School and Janet Willford of San Ramon Valley High School, SRVUSD parent Danny Kraus, Monte Vista High School Student and President of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District Student Senate, Sitara Sorkhabi, one student from the Pleasanton Council and one student from the Las Trampas Council.
- Our day will culminate with a visit from our United States Congressman, Mark DeSaulnier.

40th Anniversary Light Parade
San Ramon’s 40th Anniversary Light Parade is an event for all families, neighborhood groups and
businesses to come together and celebrate San Ramon. This is an outstanding, family friendly, birthday themed special event. The parade stretches along Camino Ramon to Bishop Drive and will include dancers, floats, bands, auto clubs, and entertainment. Youth groups, cultural performers, marching bands, local businesses, non-profits, auto clubs, veterans and other community groups are highly encouraged to be part of the parade! We invite everyone to join us in celebrating 40 years of San Ramon by participating or watching this year’s parade. Get ready for a luminescent birthday celebration!

Calling All Students! Discover and show off your inner artist through dance, film,
literature, music, photography and/or visual arts. No experience is required to
participate in Reflections! Choose from the 6 arts categories you’re interested in,
create one or more original pieces of artwork based on the theme: “I Am Hopeful Because..,” explain how your creation relates to the theme and be recognized as an artist in your community!

Bah Humbug!

Bah Humbug! 5k Run/Walk
The 2023 Bah Humbug! presented by the City of San Ramon and Chevron is a great way to start the holiday season off with a healthy fun run or walk through San Ramon. Participants will receive a holiday long-sleeved shirt and the famous Bah Humbug! Ornament. This event is great for families and children! The Bah Humbug! is a chip-timed race.
Kids Dash
The kid’s dash is for children ages 4-9 years old. The course is approximately 1K course and will start and end at the main finish line on Alcosta Boulevard, in front of the San Ramon Community Center. The Kids Dash is a non-timed event. There will be a clock at the finish line for participants to see their personal results.
Registration Options
Registration options include online, mail in, or in person. Online registration will remain open through December 1. Registration will be accepted the day of the race from 7:15-7:45am.
