On behalf of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation board and staff, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and welcome to 2023! We hope that you and your family had an enjoyable holiday season.
In 2023, the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation will continue to support our mission of investing in education, supporting parent organizations, and engaging our community for the benefit of and in partnership with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. We are all passionate about public education and know that you are too.
Season of Giving
Our Annual Season of Giving Campaign wrapped up in mid-January, and we are excited to use your gifts to support libraries in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. School libraries play a vital role in preparing students to live and learn in a world of information by:
- Offering a safe and nurturing climate during the day, as well as before and after school.
- Connecting educators to current trends and resources for teaching and learning, serving as essential partners by providing print and digital materials that meet diverse needs.
- Helping foster critical thinking, and providing students with the skills they need to analyze and communicate ideas in compelling ways.
- Serving as learning hubs and homework help centers where students can use technology to find the best information resources.
In today’s environment, learning to discern good information from opinion is more important than ever. Libraries are where it all comes together.
Teacher Grants
In November, we wrapped up our annual Teacher Grant Campaign. Each year, SRVEF and the SRVEF Major Gifts and Endowment Committee ask our educators to submit grants through DonorsChoose.
This year, we awarded 151 grants totaling $34,456.12. Twenty-four of those were music and science grants funded by our Endowment Committee. Courtesy of an anonymous donor who matched every donation on Giving Tuesday (November 29), the total value of Teacher Grants funded was $78,000! Teachers in almost every school submitted a grant request and had their grants funded. For a complete list of grants funded, please click here.
Our teacher grants are primarily funded via the annual Run for Education and Auction for Education. Please consider registering for the Run for Education today! You can do so by clicking here.
Have any ideas? Please share them by contacting us at info@SRVEF.org
