Our Mission

We are one body in Christ, sent in Faith to share God's Love, through Worship, Service, Fellowship and Witness.

Fifth Sunday of Easter

May 3, 2026

Paraments color: WHITE

Scripture Readings for April 26, 2026

As we continue to celebrate the fifty days of Easter, today’s gospel includes Jesus’ promise that he goes to prepare a place for his followers in his Father’s house. Our baptism commissions us to share Jesus’ mission in the world. As 1 Peter reminds us, we are a holy people, called to proclaim the one who called us out of darkness into light. In words and deeds we bear witness to the risen Christ—our way, our truth, our life.

Acts 7:55-60; Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16; 1 Peter 2:2-10; John 14:1-14

Grace and peace to you!

Wow. What a gift to witness the body of Christ at Hutto Lutheran working together this past weekend!

So much to give thanks for this week! My head is swimming with all the time and talents that were shared at the family fun fest and my heart is full of gratitude and awe at watching the holy spirit work through all of you.

Thank you to each of you for saying yes to your specific part in making it all possible.

Thank you to all who met and met and met and thought and pondered and questioned and prayed and dreamed.

Thank you to those who envisioned the need, and invited members to share their unique gifts to fulfill that need.

Thank you to all who sold tickets, donated items for the auction and made desserts.

Thank you to all who hauled tables and chairs and supplies.

Thank you to all who mixed coleslaw, baked beans, and barbqued meat.

Thank you to all who served the food and hosted a silent auction experience.

Thank you to those who grew and potted plants and those who hosted tables.

Thank you those who shared their talent of music to create a welcoming space to stay and fellowship.

Thank you to those who invited a friend and came out to eat bbq together!

All of this you did in the midst of your own lives and needs, and on a hot and humid spring day. You amaze me.

So grateful for each of you!

God’s peace,

Pastor Amanda

Caring for our Sanctuary

Hello HLC family! We are on an important mission to preserve our historic church building, including keeping our sanctuary clean and cared for.

We appreciate the use of non-spill/sealed cups when bringing beverages inside the sanctuary and helping with quick spot-cleaning if needed. Our ushers are always available to assist before, during or after service.

Thank you for helping care for this sacred space we share.

Many Blessings.

Financial Status

The Financial Status of HLC as of the end of March 2026:

Total expenditures $60,108

Total income $66,044

Income over expenses by $5,936

Operating Account Balance: As of the end of March we have $45,172 available for paying expenses. We also have $40,255 in a savings account available when needed for paying bills if our Operating Account gets low.

Vision Fund balance: $20,176.18 This is as of the end of 2025. We haven't received the statement yet for the 1st quarter of 2026. The quarterly statement usually comes in mid-month of the month following the end of the quarter. We did send contributions of $2,372.71 to the Lutheran Foundation of the Southwest for contributions during the first quarter of 2026.

Capital Improvement: Our balance available in the Operating Account is $3,839 and $26,569 in a savings account available when needed for paying Capital Improvement expenses. We have had a couple large expenses in March using these funds. The electrical work done in the Sanctuary and new flooring in the 502 Ministry Center.

The Operating Account is very healthy. The Insurance will be coming due the first part of May, so that will be taking a large chunk out of our balance. We are looking good for the payments. Should have balances showing those payments mid-month in May.

If you have any questions about our Financial Status, please contact Rodney Westphal.
