What is Stewardship?
In today’s readings we are reminded of God’s abundant provision and our call to be stewards of God’s creation and to share our abundance and our lives with each other.
Micah 6:1-8; Psalm 19; Acts 4:32-34; Luke 12:13-21

Grace and peace to you,
These past several weeks have truly been a gift: to hear people share their faith and their experiences of God, to watch existing ministries take off again, to witness new ministries forming, to participate in new member classes, and to watch you all accomplish so much together. We are small but mighty and God is here! Thank you to all who contributed items, purchased items and especially to all who turned a pile of things into a trove of sorted treasures: thank you thank you thank you! Another 1500 was raised to get the kid to camp and the ELCA youth gathering next summer.

World Hunger Day - October 16th
World Food Day is celebrated in more than 150 countries and more than 50 languages to raise awareness of hunger. This year’s theme, “Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow.,” highlights how we can combine traditional knowledge with forward-thinking solutions to ensure that everyone has access to nutritious food.
ELCA World Hunger has been at work for more than 50 years, addressing root causes of hunger around the world and here in the United States through innovative, sustainable projects. Your gifts connect people with training and resources so they can enjoy a fruitful harvest, access clean water, send their kids to school, get adequate healthcare and strengthen their income streams.
This World Food Day, our congregation is invited to join ELCA World Hunger in taking action. When we work together, we can build a just world where all are fed.
At our annual Christmas party, the Fellowship and Outreach Committees collect money for ELCA Good Gifts to purchase goats, chicks, piglets, roosters, share of a cow, share of a fish farm, seeds and gardening tools, and water filters. In addition, when purchased on Giving Tuesday, our purchase dollars are matched.
The Fellowship and Outreach Committees are challenging the congregation to match or beat our commitment of $500 for this worthwhile effort.
