Scripture Readings for Sunday

In today’s second reading Paul questions why we judge one another, since we all stand before the judgment of God. Yet we do sin against one another, and Jesus’ challenge that we forgive seventy-seven times reveals God’s boundless mercy. When we hear the words of forgiveness in worship and sign ourselves with the cross, we are renewed in baptism to be signs of reconciliation in the world.

Genesis 50:15-21; Psalm 103: 1-13; Romans 14:1-12; Matthew 18:21-35

From the Pastor's Desk

Grace and peace to you!

This week is one of celebration and gratitude.

Thank you to those who made God’s Work Our Hands Sunday possible! To those who organized volunteers, those who donated items, those who made signs, and to those who are connected to our congregation from a distance for the many ways you take part in our life together at Hutto Lutheran.

Thank you to the new members at Hutto Lutheran. It was such a gift to get to know you in new member classes and I am looking forward to more opportunities to share life together at HLC.

Thank you to new member sponsors for your time and the love you have shared on behalf of HLC.

Thank you to those who hosted the potluck and helped support an opportunity for celebration and fellowship.

Thank you to all who worked tirelessly to clear away the cobwebs and make space for learning. Thank you to leaders and teachers who helped create opportunities for connection and growth.

Thank you to confirmation students and families and mentors and adults who have set aside time for study of the catechism.

So grateful for the opportunity to witness Christ’s light shining at Hutto Lutheran through all of you!

God’s peace,

Pastor Amanda
