Fourth Sunday of Easter

Paraments color: WHITE
Scripture Readings for May 11, 2025
The gift of new life, of eternal life, is the gift of the risen Christ. It is the promise of Jesus. It was true for Dorcas in Joppa. It was true for those “who have come out of the great ordeal” in the Revelation vision. It is true for us and for all the baptized: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Acts 9:36-43; Psalm 23; Revelation 7:9-17; John 10:22-30

From the Pastor's Desk
Grace and peace to you,
The narrative that we hear in our world around us is not enough. In light of this past Sunday's texts of God's more than enough, I would like to share this blessing with you.
For Good Enough
There is always more to do.
Success and striving
have no out of office reply
Regret and pressure
irritate Sabbath's
gentle call like a nervous twitch.
When I am weary
of the world's demands,
skeptical of this stress,
I listen
for my mortality calling.
At first I don't hear anything
but my neurotic inner monologue.
It takes a while to dial that down.
And then it's just my ragged breath
and the thump of my heartbeat.
I almost fall asleep beneath the rhythm
but then it hollers
ringing like a dinner bell
calling me home! I run
sweaty and hungry
for the first and last judgment
on my life
Good.
Very good.
Enough.
God's own.
The truth breaks in.
It fills and blesses me with
a seat at the table and
holy permission to simply be.
My breath slows and I smile when
I get just enough air
between me and the world
to remember who I am.
God's peace,
Pastor Amanda

Adult Study: The Greatest Story
Meets Sundays at 9:00am in the 502
Group conscience has determined that we should study each book of the Bible book by book, verse by verse, by reading out loud to each other and then discussing how the people of the time may have understood it and how we understand it and how that applies to us today. We cover one to two chapters each week.
Please join us and share your understanding and wisdom. Remember there is no judgement of anybody’s understanding. Come and be a disciple of Jesus.
