Godly Play

Godly Play is a worship experience for ages 4 - 5th grade and is offered during both services, except on Communion Sundays, when children stay in worship service with their families.

Sunday Morning Small Groups currently meeting in person: Children's Sunday School, Youth Sunday School, Young Parents Sunday School, and Open Door Sunday School Class which is both In Person (make a reservation) and on Zoom (available to all).

  • Grief Support group meets in the Parlor following the service.
  • To-go food boxes provided to all attendees.

Family Fun Night
Picnic, Ice Cream & Lawn Games

Families are invited to Fun Night on Sunday, June 27 at 5 p.m. for a picnic, ice cream social, and lawn games. Food will be provided. To register contact Helene Denny by text 275-791-9385 or by e-mail at by Friday, June 25th.
8:45 Worship Family Gathering
All are invited to a conversation about worship offerings at State Street and the needs and possibilities for the Sunday morning 8:45 a.m. Chapel Service.

We will gather on Sunday, June 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Members of the Worship Committee will be on hand.
Mid-Week Prayer Gathering

Beginning on Wednesday, July 7 at noon, Pastor Laura is offering a mid-week Prayer Gathering in the Chapel. Prayer concerns will be shared. There will be guided opportunities to be still and reflect on the power and presence of God. The service will last about 30 minutes.

Christmas in July
Sponsor a Child In Need

Communities in Schools of Southwest Virginia, in cooperation with Bristol Virginia Public Schools, is providing 200 students an opportunity for “Christmas in July.” With your help, students in need will receive new school clothes for the upcoming year. In addition, high school students will be taken shopping to purchase their own school clothes.

  • You can shop for a student by picking up a student preference sheet at the registration table in the Narthex Sunday or by calling Cheri in the Church Office (276) 669-2101 Ext. 121.

  • You can sponsor a child by making a monetary donation of $75. Donations can be made by visiting or by mailing a check to : Communities in Schools of Southwest Virginia, 220 Lee Street, Bristol, VA 24201.

  • The deadline is Sunday, July 11th to bring in your donated items. Please drop donations off at the Church Office during regular business hours.
