Woohoo! Summer is finally here!
As I write this message the sun is shining, the sky is blue and the air is warm. All of this before the 4th of July.
With that said, Happy 4th of July everyone! I feel like a great way to celebrate our country's independence is to get out there and explore.
This gets me thinking back to raising a combined family of 5 kids plus a number of foster kids and remembering all the times we loaded them all into the van and headed out to the Olympic Peninsula for a weekend journey.
Although the ride was full of the usual challenges of "who gets to pick the radio station" and "sister won‘t stop touching me," when we'd finally get to our destination of Staircase for an amazing hike, or the Game Farm in Sequim to feed the bison, or the bunkers at Fort Worden to play a family game of hide and seek, the whole family had a great time.
I hope that you and yours take advantage of our beautiful area this summer and remember Port Ludlow Resort is a great Base Camp for your Farm-to-Fork experience, for your hiking, boating, golfing explorations and for your Olympic Peninsula adventures to the Rain Forest, Sol Duc, Hurricane Ridge and many more.
