Thank you, Dana Rowan,
above, for donating this wonderful original illustrated map of Capt. Kidd's voyages in Long Island Sound. Dana's father, editor Roy Rowan, commissioned the map c. 1970 from illustrator James Flora for 'On the Sound', one of the nation's first regional magazines, covering the coastal areas around Long Island Sound from New York to Massachusetts. The map will be a perfect addition to the pirate section of our new 'Kids Ahoy' exhibition.
