Harrison Elementary School recently partnered with Cottage Grove High School (CGHS) career counselors to host a career-focused field day, giving students early exposure to a variety of professions. The event supports the district’s goal of preparing students for life after high school by encouraging them to think about their futures from a young age.

While elementary students aren’t making career decisions yet, learning about different jobs can spark interests that influence their academic paths. Some may later choose specific Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in high school that align with careers they discovered during the event. By starting career conversations early, Harrison Elementary is helping students build a foundation for informed choices and future success.
