On May 2, 2025, the South Lane School District celebrated School Lunch Hero

Day. District office staff visited the nutritional services teams at each school to

acknowledge these School Lunch Heroes who serve the students. During these

visits, leadership expressed their gratitude for the staff's commitment and

recognized their dedication to providing excellent meals.

To show appreciation, each team received a tray of homemade treats along with a

card honoring the day. Additionally, every member of the nutritional services

staff was given t-shirts as a token of thanks. These t-shirts were especially

meaningful, as they were ordered through the Cottage Grove High School Career

and Technical Education Business class, where students created the designs and

fulfilled the order.
