Building Skills, Shaping Futures!

The South Lane School District is dedicated to preparing students for their

careers or further education. In recent years, the district has focused on

developing Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at the high school

level. These programs provide pathways for students to acquire practical skills

necessary for their post-high school options, whether they choose to enter the

workforce, attend trade school, or pursue higher education at a college or

university. CTE courses create relevance for students in their studies and help

them build meaningful connections to their futures through work-based learning

opportunities. With an emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world

application, CTE programs are designed to facilitate a successful transition from

education to employment.

CTE encompasses a wide range of educational programs that specialize in teaching specific skills for careers in fields such as construction, manufacturing,

information technology, early childhood education, and many others. South Lane

School District currently offers 11 CTE course pathways approved by the Oregon

Department of Education, all of which are connected to post-secondary job

experiences. Career and Technical education is a pathway to success and pivotal

in equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need for their future

careers.
