Happy and Proud
We are so proud to share that our attendance rates are improving across the South Lane School District! Our district has a higher percentage of students who are considered Regular Attenders, compared to the state of Oregon average and we continue to make gains. To be considered a regular attender, it means that the student attends school 90% or more of the days (missing 17 days or fewer) throughout the school year. Thank you to our students, families, and staff who are working together to help kids be in school each and every day. Every day in school matters, and we’re seeing the positive difference it makes.
When students attend regularly, they get to:
-
Build important academic skills that South Lane staff have been carefully planning and collaborating to teach.
-
Enjoy time at recess, PE, assemblies and lunch, building memories and relationships that make school fun.
-
Dive into hands-on learning in our Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes and elective opportunities.
-
Participate in sports and extracurricular clubs, building teamwork and leadership.
-
Explore their artistic and creative sides in technology, music, art, and performance opportunities.
-
Form healthy habits and routines that support long-term success in school, work, and life.
School is so much more than academics—it’s about growth, friendship, creativity, and discovering passions for the future. At South Lane, our staff are committed to our Mission: In SLSD we empower learning, ensure belonging, and prepare every student to graduate college or career ready.
Thank you for helping us make attendance a priority and thank you for the continued progress! We are off to a great start this year and we look forward to continued success! Together, we’re giving our students the gift of learning, belonging, and opportunity every single day. We are proud of the progress we are making on regular attendance and proud of the opportunities our students are given... every single day at South Lane!
