Happy Holidays to you and your family! We received this beautiful card from one of our recent families and I wanted to share it with you. The impact that you have on our guests is real and it is life changing. Whether you are a volunteer, a member of a host or support congregation, a donor, or a combination of all of these roles, we are grateful to you. Because of you and your support at whatever level, our families are loved and cared for.
Double your gift to IHNA
The IHNA board and staff and several other individuals have created a Double Your Dollars Match, which is in effect today until December 31, 2016. For instance, if you donate $100, your contribution will be matched with an additional $100, thus making a total of $200 available to provide childcare and other direct expenses for our families. With your help, this generous support potentially will provide an additional $15,000 in matching funds to IHNA and ensure safe, compassionate, and stable housing for our homeless children.
To make a gift, simple write a check to IHNA and mail it to 393-1 W. Hancock Ave., Athens, GA 30601 or go to our website (www.ihnathens.org) and click the Donate Now button in the top right hand corner of the web page.
Also we can now take stock donations if that is something that is of interest. Simple go to our website and click the Donate Now button in the top right hand corner of the web page and follow the instructions for donating gifts of stock.
We appreciate your support at this time of year and your support goes to house and feed the homeless children and their families who are guest in our network of compassion.
Welcome New Host Congregations
We are excited to announce that Tuckston United Methodist Church has agreed to become a host congregation in 2017. This is cause for celebration and we welcome Tuckston to the network of congregations who are serving those in great need!
Additionally, we thank Oconee Street UMC who has been a support congratulation but will transition to a host congregation in 2017. They will continue to partner with Young Harris UMC and St. Gregory Episcopal. We are in the process of looking for one more congregation to support this team.
Office and Day Center Closing
Our offices and the Day Center will be closed from December 24 through January 2. We will be back in the office on Tuesday, January 3. Should you need immediate assistance, please email Davin Welter at firstname.lastname@example.org. He will do his best to get back in a timely manner.
Please be patient with us as we take some time to rest and recuperate during the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays. As a small nonprofit with two full-time folks and two part-time folks, our days can be long and some times overwhelming. I believe that it is important to charge the batteries and to spend time with loved ones so that we can be energized for the work ahead. 2016 has been a great year and we look forward to having more of an impact in 2017!
