Well, it's been quite a month! Warnock winning the squeaker in Georgia has been a highlight for me.

The benefit concert and silent auction for my friend Carlton Ward went well last month. This picture was taken that night and then adjusted by my friend Zen Achilles. Zen's been taking pictures and creating art from them for years. If you're looking for an interesting and unique holiday gift visit his world and have him create something for you. I have one he made of me from a picture taken at Beloved years ago that graces my wall and reminds me of a very special moment in time.

Yep, 8 billion. I was so happy to see my friend Les Knight featured in the New York Times recently. He started The Volunteer Human Extinction Movement: vhemt.org - if you ever seek an answer to anything population-growth related, the website has a great FAQ section that has great answers to typical sentiments like "what if the good people stop having kids?" and 50 more that I hear all the time. Even if we moved just a little bit in the direction he's suggesting we'd push back against climate change way more than we are now. I guess this is just a line of thought I'll be pushing till I'm recomposed!

My Dad, Rich Kaufman, is now in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) in NE Philly. It seems like my family is pleased with this place. He's moved around a little and I'm glad they are happy with where he is now for the moment.

Related to my family, our cabin, Camp Smiley, which has been in my family for 70 years and is a piece of paradise is on the market. It's in Sumneytown, PA. Here's the listing. It would be great if this were to go to a friend of the family.

Personally, I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis for the past 6 months and I'm finally starting to take getting over it seriously. If you've never had this before consider yourself lucky. It makes it hard to walk and has been keeping me from doing things.

Besides chiropractic, acupuncture, and stretching I went for a massage yesterday with Peter Black. You may recall that I am a big fan of massage. If you're looking for a good one, visit Peter - wow, so good!

If you're noticing a little bit of sluggishness to this newsletter I think it's due to my receiving my flu and shingles vaccines recently. After reading this article about this year's flu (and running it by some trusted friends) I went and got my first flu shot of my life!
On the leaf-blower front, we're making progress in Portland. A County/City workgroup just finished their work and now the document they created and guidance goes before the City and Multnomah County - probably in the beginning of 2023.

I hope your life is going well. I will end with this. Mr. Money Mustache. This guy/writer has had more influence on my life in the last couple of years than anyone else. He's put his top 52 blog pieces (out of 500 or so) into a weekly newsletter. He's not trying to sell anything except a better life for you. Give him a try!

Lots of love and brightness!
