All of us at the Mississippi Low Income Child Care Initiative wish you a very happy New Year!

Joy is not the first word that comes to mind when looking towards 2025 due to impending cuts promised by the incoming Administration to safety net programs that women and children rely on. But we do look forward to working together with you to protect child care, health care and other vitally needed programs. We have determination; we have hope – and we can find joy in our work together.

We will keep you apprised of developments at the state level as well. Let’s watch for proposals that offer education, training opportunities, and pathways to higher earnings for MS low-income single mom families, and other developments that may come from the Senate task forces that met last fall on women, children, and the workforce.
