Leadership Development

PROJECT DAY

The adult leadership class took on the river and paradise as their class project in June. Landlubbers were on their knees pulling weeds and freshening up the flower beds in the mosaic garden at Paradise Garden. Meanwhile, the rest of the class had a tough day at the office by cleaning a four-mile stretch of the Lower Chattooga River from Trion to Riverbluff.

It was perfect weather for a float or a sweat. All in all, the class felt they accomplished to brighten the community and get their hands dirty. Afterwards, we all enjoyed lunch at the Arts & Learning Center at the Garden.

Jobs well done!!

Our haul... Anna outscored Jason with this chair.

Don't ask LOL

Score 2 for Anna!

After. How beautiful!

WHAT?!!!

It's all good. Some of the paddlers who participated in the 5th Annual Chattooga River Fest chose to continue downriver. Since we knew them and trusted their abilities, we let them go on.

Plus, they signed a waiver. ;)

Evan Langley won the Atrium Health EMS kayak raffle. Caught up with his mom, Valerie, to get it delivered. Congrats!!

The Band Chattooga put on a fabulous show covering everything from Allman Brothers to Journey and more. You can catch them at the
Chattooga County Agricultural Fair next month.

Visit us online for more information about the Chattooga River Group, upcoming paddles and projects.

Your Place in Paradise Garden

For decades, visitors have wandered the winding paths of Paradise Garden, discovering the extraordinary world created by Rev. Howard Finster. Built from imagination, faith, and found materials, it has always been a place where people come not only to see—but to connect.

Artists once brought their work to Finster, and he welcomed and celebrated it. Visitors brought meaningful objects—a broken platter, a cherished fragment—and watched them become part of something new. Paradise Garden has never been static. It has always grown through the hands and stories of those who love it.

In celebration of Howard Finster’s 110th birthday, the Living Pathway continues this tradition—inviting you to become part of Paradise Garden itself.

Who will you honor?

SUPPORT THE ARTS!

The Tooga will once again be a performing arts venue and centerpiece in downtown Summerville. Until that time, please support the local arts in our schools, in our events, in our art environments and everywhere that is Chattooga.

A world without arts is a world without creative thoughts, chosen words, inspiring visuals and magnificent sounds.

Are we in your business? Are you in ours ?

It is ALL about building relationships.

connect. grow. learn.
