Talbot County Cooling Center -

TCFL Easton Partially Open 7/4

Due to the extreme heat this week, Talbot County Free Library will be operating as a county cooling center. The Lobby and Main Meeting Room at the Easton Branch will be partially open from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4th. We will have puzzles and free books available. No circulation, reference, or computer services will be available.

Upcoming Delays & Closures

Both branches of TCFL will have a delayed opening on Wednesday, July 1 due to a scheduled staff meeting. The Easton Branch will open at 11:00 a.m. and the St. Michaels Branch will open at 12:00 p.m.

TCFL will also be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4 in honor of the July 4th holiday. We will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6.

New Playground Debuts at Home Run Baker Park

Join Parks & Recreation and partners at the Grand Opening of the new playground at Home Run Baker Park in Trappe today, July 1.

Be sure to stop by TCFL's table for a fun baseball-themed game, giveaways, and more during this community celebration! Home Run Baker Park is also home to one of TCFL's Community Wi-Fi Centers - come check it out for yourself!

Free Screening of Jurassic Park

Friday, July 10

2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Easton Branch

Talbot County Free Library (TCFL) and Chesapeake Film Festival (CFF) will show the 1993 movie, Jurassic Park.

Refreshments will be served. 20 copies of the book, Jurassic Park will be given out on a first come/first served basis.

Rated PG-13

Runtime: 127 minutes.

This program is free and open to the public, no registration necessary.

Book Donations Accepted

The Friends of the Library are preparing for their book sale on July 24th and 25th and will be accepting items at the Easton Branch in the Frederick Douglass Room. We accept donations of books and DVDs in good condition.

Donations will be accepted on the following dates:

Monday, July 6: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, July 7: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Tuesday, July 14: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 18: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Memoir Writing Group

Thursday, July 9

St. Michaels Branch

The Memoir Writers' Group has been meeting in St. Michaels for over 20 years. Twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday, the group meets to share narratives on various topics. This group of writers creates a safe space for feedback and discussion.
