Happy Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week!
On behalf of Prime Time, we want to recognize each afterschool professional for showing up every day to offer a space for youth to feel safe and inspired. Because of them, children attending have the opportunity to build friendships, do hands-on learning activities, play, get help with homework, think about new possibilities while their imaginations run free.
Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week is a time to recognize, appreciate and advocate for those who work with young people during out-of-school hours. In 2023, 523 scholarships were awarded, and 811 afterschool professionals attended trainings offered by Prime Time to ultimately sharpen their skills so they could make a greater impact on the children they serve.
Prime Time is awarding the staff at two afterschool programs lunch from Panera Bread in honor of Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week. The two programs chosen had the highest level of engagement with our organization.
Hammock Pointe Elementary Afterschool Program
and
FAU/Pine Jog Elementary Afterschool Program
An estimated 7.8 million young people participate in afterschool programs yearly in the U.S. and research shows that afterschool professionals are the key to program quality. Their work in the afterschool field results in increased mindfulness skills, school attendance and academic performance in the youth whom they impact and work with daily.
From all of us at Prime Time Palm Beach County, we want to say thank you and we appreciate you.
You are the heart of afterschool.
