A Cheers to Canned Beverages
This is an ode to all of the people putting delicious beverages into cans. Thank you for putting wine and cocktails into non-breakable, easily portable, single serve receptacles. Thank you for giving us infinite beverage choices to bring camping, boating, and beaching... and for sneaking into movie theaters, walking the dog , and inconspicuously drinking at family reunions.

NL's Fav Canned Wines of the Moment:

  • Lubanzi Chenin Blanc: one of our favorite South Africa chenin blancs - now in cans!! And not a drop different than what's in the bottle. Perfect for a hot beach day.
  • Ferdinand Albarino & Rose: this is made by the assistant winemaker Kongsgaard. 100% Albarino from the Vista Luna Vineyard in Lodi. Literally delicious, single vineyard Albarino in a can, from the assistant winemaker at one of the highest profile wineries in Napa.
  • Tiamo White, Rose, Red: Made with organic grapes, these are some easy drinking, crushable Italians.
  • VINNY New York Bubbly: canned bubbs! Gruner Veltliner and Riesling from Seneca and Cayuga Lakes in NY. Vin (wine) + NY (new york) = VINNY. Now you know.
  • Vamos! Vino Malbec: From Famiglia Meschini, 100% sustainably grown malbec from the Uco Valley. Perfect with a bit of a chill. This isn't a heavy hitter malbec.. this is designed for tailgates and BBQs.
  • Alloy Wine Works "Just Peechy": white wine grapes and peaches co-fermented with amarillo hops. Trust us, this is a favorite.

STAFF PICKS
Patti's Pick

Lini 910 Correggio Lambrusco NV $24.99

Your preconceptions may be that Lambrusco is a sweet, simple wine, but this wine is dry and complex with plenty of red and black fruits. Refreshing on the palate with vibrant crunchy red fizz and zippy acidity. Drink cold with friends over brunch!
Doug's Pick

2017 Luigi Giordano Langhe Rosso $19.99

This interesting blend of 90% Nebbiolo and 10% Arneis is a great option for nibbles off the grill. The bright red fruit character, ample acidity, and persistent tannins nod to Piedmont while the addition of the white grape Arneis, a traditional recipe from Roero, is hardly ever seen these days.
Madison's Pick

2017 Fattori 'Danieli' Soave

Speaking of summer crushers.. this just in. We've always loved Fattori's Valpolicellas here at the shop. As refreshing as the day is long, lightly floral with crisp stone fruit, lemon, and bright minerality. 100% garganega, a grape native to the Veneto. This is a patio wine that carries well into dinner.. great with summer salads and white fish (obviously).
Patrick's Pick

2017 Pedroncelli Sauvignon Blanc, East Side Vyd, Sonoma $15.99

Cold fermentation, no malolactic exchange, and bottled without touching oak, this sauvignon blanc is a pure expression of the soil, sun, and fog from where the grapes were grown by the first family of Dry Creek, the Pedroncellis.
Citrus and grassy aromatics lead to a palate of lemon, peach, and apple crispness around a mineral core to make this a refreshing and tangy addition to your summer table. Enjoy with fresh white fish piccata!
