Dancing the Revolution! was a time for us to connect with our community. Thank you to all who came and danced with us. Thank you to the NYBDC dancers who worked hard to reconstruct these dances and thank you to the Music of the Regiment for such lively music! Arms for the Revolution

I will never forget when I was working with French dancers in Lyons and told them we needed to set the arms...somehow they were thinking of Kentucky rifles! The use of the arms in the allemande are very specific and in this photo we are deciphering the iconography from De la Cuisse, 1762. Thank you Paul Ross for this photo.

July 4th, I was at the Schuyler Mansion!

Teaching one of George Washington's favorite dances, the Virgina Minuet, was such an honor. Thank you to the over 200 people who attended this special festival and to the Schuyler Mansion for this once-in-a-lifetime invitation celebrating America 250!

Five Decades of Artistry and Innovation with The New York Baroque Dance Company

The photo above with Tom Baird was from Le Devin du Village by Jean-Jacques Rousseau and was a part of the 200th anniversary of the French Revolution celebrated by the Alliance Française in NYC in 1989. It was a collaboration between the Alliance, Concert Royal and The New York Baroque Dance Company. This was one of many productions over the years and I am grateful to EADH for giving me a platform to revisit my unique contribution, through the NYBDC, with our work over the last 50 years.

The Blindfolded Juggler has been a popular choreography of mine and in this photo you see a young dancer from Ballet Tech directed by Eliot Feld link . In the near future NYBDC hopes to mount more of its repertoire on students in dance schools and at universities.
