From Pottstown to Poland
Our most recent physical therapy graduate was having difficulty with walking when he started. We helped him to recover and safely go on his much anticipated trip to Poland with his wife.
Physical therapists can have a profound effect on people’s lives. They help people achieve fitness goals, regain or maintain their independence, and lead active lives. Physical therapists are movement experts who improve quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education.
Physical therapists diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from children to people at the end of life. Many patients have injuries, disabilities, or other health conditions that need treatment. Physical therapists examine each person and then develop a treatment plan to improve their ability to move, reduce or manage pain, restore function, and prevent disability.

Happy Birthday to Community Health and Dental Care! We have been serving the community for 14 years. We couldn't have done it without you. | Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease for children in the U.S. During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, CHDC held a Go Gold event to raise awareness for childhood cancer. Raising awareness helps find better, safer treatments for kids fighting cancer. To learn how to throw a Go Gold event and help fight cancer, visit www.acco.org.

Every October, people all over the world show their support for everyone affected by breast cancer. More than a third of women don’t check their breasts. This is a month for us to help you remember to exam yourself and schedule your annual screenings. This Fall, CHDC and Tower Health are partnering to offer 3D Mammogram Screenings on their mobile unit. Call Tower Health at 484-628-8611 to schedule your appointment.
As the weather cools in the fall, it’s tempting to be less physically active. October is the perfect time to focus on healthy self-care because we’re celebrating National Physical Therapy Month! Physical therapy is not just for injury recovery, but Its benefits include injury and illness prevention. Prestigious medical institutions also recognize the power of physical therapy in treating mental and emotional disorders. Let’s make this month all about taking care of ourselves.
National Dental Hygiene Month is observed every October to celebrate the work of dental hygienists and raise awareness of the importance of good oral health. An essential component to our overall wellbeing, good oral hygiene is one building block of a healthy lifestyle. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), oral diseases, which range from cavities and gum disease to oral cancer, cause debilitating pain for millions of Americans every year. Protecting your oral health by practicing good oral hygiene can substantially increase the likelihood of keeping your teeth for a lifetime.
World Mental Health Day is meant to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigmas surrounding mental illness, and encourage workplaces, institutions, and individuals to prioritize their mental health. It's important to take time for yourself to clear your mind, have fun and do things you enjoy, improve your sleep quality, process your emotions, promote relaxation, and reduce stress.
Depression can wear you out at the exact time you need all of your strength to fight. Trying to cope is extremely tiring — and it’s often difficult to know when others are suffering. That’s why, during October, we observe National Depression Education & Awareness Month. This important holiday helps teach us about the signs, symptoms, and treatment options for depression. It also lets all of us know that seeking help — either from a counselor, a trusted friend, or your community — is a sign of hope and strength.

Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries Can Save Thousands
CHDC's Case Management team will help Medicare recipients navigate the Medicare registration process and understand the Medicare buy-in program which helps eligible individuals pay for certain out-of-pocket healthcare costs. Seniors with limited income and resources may qualify to have their Medicare Part B premium paid for, saving thousands of dollars by receiving maximum benefits from the Medicare program.
