Teens Talk About Relationships
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
Are you a friend, parent, relative, or teacher to a teen that wants to know how to support them in their friendships and dating relationships? Here are a few questions you can ask to get started:
  • I noticed that you and your friend aren’t seeing each other anymore, did something happen between you?
  • Has there been a time when you have felt disrespected by a significant other, online or offline? How did you respond?
  • What is it like for you when you notice a friend’s significant other is not treating them well? What do you do?
  • When do you feel safest, healthiest, and most supported in your close relationships?
The Retreat Teen Leaders Turn 10!
Retreat Teen Leaders are ambassadors in teaching people about healthy relationships.

Over the past decade, they have helped us reach countless students and community members. Plus, they keep us up to date on what it's like to be in a relationship. Here's just a quick list of their accomplishments:
  • created community events and workshops promoting healthy relationships;
  • produced original artwork for program materials;
  • written and recorded public service announcements for the radio;
  • written articles for local and school newspapers;
  • filmed and edited videos on bullying, respect, and support

Former Teen Leader Olivia created this anniversary video that tells all about the program from the student perspective.
