Happy CSEdWeek!
It's Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek)! CSEdWeek is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in computer science. Our goal at the DCIU Department of Teaching, Learning, and Innovation is to ensure every student in every school has an opportunity to learn computer science. That's why we've curated a list of engaging classroom activities to celebrate CSEdWeek just for you, along with a few upcoming opportunities for teachers to get hands-on experience with computer science curriculum resources.

Don't forget to share any activities you do with us on Twitter @delcoSTEM using #CSEdWeek!

Code.org Dance Party
Hour of Code: Dance Party is Code.org's featured activity for the Hour of Code. The tutorial teaches students to code, get creative, and even dance, all at once. Students can choose from 30 hits like Ariana Grande's "No Tears Left to Cry," Lady Gaga's "Born this Way," Katy Perry's "Firework," or international hits like J Balvin's "Mi Gente."

The tutorial helps students code interactive dance moves and special effects as they learn basic CS Concepts.

Wonder Workshop
Wonder Workshop has released six new packets to use in classrooms during the Hour of Code and beyond! Each printable packet contains several creative coding activities, both online and offline. The packets include free challenge cards, creative DIY robot challenges, screen-free puzzles, recommended reading, vocabulary, and fun facts.
