Happy Diwali

Assemblymember
Rodneyse Bichotte
Diwali, one of the most important festivals in India, is the five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. The name is derived from the Sanskrit term dipavali, meaning “row of lights.” The festival generally symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.

Followers believe Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, auspiciousness, and good fortune, visits her devotees and bestows gifts and blessings upon each of them[1]. The festival encourages people to work together and honor mother nature.
