GET OUT AND GROW

Celebrating the joys and benefits of gardening while encouraging people of all ages and experience levels to get growing. Whether you have acres of land or a single windowsill, there is a way to participate.

Start a vegetable garden – April is prime planting time for many vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and herbs. We carry a large variety of vegetable and herb starts at the nursery and all the planting supplies you need to get growing.
Join a community garden – Community gardens provide plots for individuals and families who lack private garden space. Also an excellent way to learn from experienced gardeners, share resources, and build friendships.
Plant pollinator-friendly flowers – Planting lavender, sunflowers, wildflowers, and native plants supports pollinator populations and adds color to your garden.
Volunteer at a school garden program – Many schools run gardening programs that teach children about food, science, and environmental stewardship.

DEER GARDENER

Experienced gardeners in the Northwest are no stranger to deer. We know all too well how they can turn a prized shrub into a barren skeleton in a matter of minutes. Factors like deer population, location of other preferred food sources and temperature all play a large role from season to season.

PANSIES - THE PERFECT SPRING FLOWER

Add a burst of color to your spring planters and hanging baskets. Bursts of spring weather have us itching to plant. Our planting crew at Landsystems is starting to schedule plant installations now.

In everything we plant we utilize 5 amendments.

Soil Building Conditioner - helps improve soil structure by increasing aeration, water holding capacity, and nutrients.

Steer Compost - A natural based compost that adds much needed nutrients to our sandy soil.

Mycorrhizae - Beneficial fungi that forms connections to the plant root and draws nutrients from the soil that the root system would not be able to access otherwise. This fungi-plant alliance stimulates plant growth and accelerates root development.

Root Stimulator - utilizes the hormone Indole-3-butyric Acid and an NPK of 4-10-3 to quickly maximize root growth and provide nutrition to get your plants off to a strong start.

Osmocote - A slow release, temperature activated, granule fertilizer that provides up to 11 essential micro nutrients and a 15-9-12 NPK ratio to promote consistent growth.

Blooming now! A wonderful perennial that covers the ground with masses of colorful flowers. Great for borders and listed as deer resistant. Available in pink, purple and white.

WHATS THAT WONDERFUL SMELL?

Chokecherry- Canada Red Chokecherry is a deciduous shrub or tree with clusters of fragrant white flowers that bloom in mid-spring. Unlike most trees and shrubs, this Chokecherry variety buds out with green leaves that turn marron as the season progresses. Hardy and fast growing. The white flowers in the spring are followed by edible black berries.
