EDUCATION COALITION'S PALM PROJECT SELECTED AS IMPACT 100 GRANT RECIPIENT

The Baldwin County Education Coalition was among the five area nonprofits awarded a combined $525,000 in grants from Impact 100 Baldwin County at their annual Evening of Impact on November 2, 2023. The Coalition received one of five $105,000 grants awarded.

Funds will be used to grow and expand Palm Project. Palm Project is a county-wide initiative to provide tangible resources, stocking each school’s care closet with essential items so students can focus on what matters most, learning.

A MISSION OF LOVE: SHIRLEE'S KIDS FOUNDATION CONTRIBUTES $10,000 TO PALM PROJECT

Tom and Shirlee Poulos were married for 32 years. During those 32 years, Shirlee always had a passion for helping children, doing anything their family could do to give back to the next generation.

“We just have such a great love for children and their value and their innocence,” said Tom Poulos. “If we don’t do something to protect that innocence and enhance their value, and help them deal with all of the obstacles that are in our world today, then what are we here for.”

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR NOVEMBER!

Volunteers are at the heart of the Palm Project initiative. Slots are available for November 27th & November 30th to help stock inventory and fulfill orders for delivery to our schools. Grab your office mates, civic group, church group, friends or family and sign up today to help fulfill the mission of Palm Project. Can't make it in November? There are volunteer days available each month through the end of the school year.

The HG Clay Foundation continued their support for and investment in education once again this year!

Mr. Daniel Thompson, Board Member for the HG Clay Foundation, presented the Baldwin County Education Coalition with a $5,000 donation to the Palm Project.

Volunteers from Baldwin EMC joined the Baldwin County Education Coalition in October to help stock and pack orders for Palm Project.

Thank you to this Baldwin EMC crew for lending a hand and to Baldwin EMC for allowing your employees the opportunity to serve in their communities!

Baldwin County Sewer Service is the longest standing corporate partner of the Baldwin County Education Coalition. Baldwin County Sewer began the Annual Golf Classic in support of the Coalition 11 years ago. They continue to serve as host to the Coalition's largest fundraiser.

The Coalition paid a visit to Baldwin County Sewer to bring lunch and to recognize their continued support and say 'Thank you' for all that they do.

Volunteers from Baldwin Realtors and Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism joined the Coalition in September to help fulfill orders for Palm Project.

The group packed 65 boxes filling 31 orders for schools in Baldwin County.

Thank you to both organizations for lending a hand to help fulfill the mission of Palm Project!
