October has brought some cooler weather to south Alabama and lots of fun Fall activities! The boys are playing recreational soccer, so a few evenings a week we head to the fields for practices and games. Lately, we have had to bundle up in blankets to stay warm, living in Costa Rica and South Florida for the past six years has definitely thinned our blood!
Homecoming in a small town is a family event! We watched Reagan walk in the Homecoming parade, attended the Homecoming football game, then the girls went to the Homecoming dance. It was a fun-packed weekend for sure! It was especially neat to see Abigail get all dressed up, it was her first time attending a dance!
We were all so excited that Laura's parents visited for a week...they hadn't seen the kids since before Coviid hit! We spent the week at soccer games, having Dad do small projects around the house, and introducing them to Buc-ee's - a famous rest-stop attraction. It was great to spend time with them, we are hoping that they come back sooner than later!
We wrapped up October with a visit from one of our closest friends, Taylor. She spent some time with our friends and PPM co-workers, Anna and Jacob, before coming to us. We were able to spend the weekend with them as well when we picked her up. It was a full week with soccer, a costume party, pumpkin carving, and a couple of puzzles. She's the best and blends right into our crazy life whenever she visits!
We are less than two months out from Christmas and the anticipation is starting to build here. For us, it's not about the presents, or Christmas Day itself, but about the season in which we celebrate, with expectancy, the birth of Jesus and the Gift that He is to each of us. We pray that as the next couple of months fill up with events and activities, that Jesus is the focus and priority in each of our lives.
We are so grateful for each of you, and pray that Jesus provides for all of your needs as you continue to trust in him.
