Our Fall bucket list usually includes fall festivals, pumpkin patches, pumpkin pie, hay rides, full bellies, and family fun. This season gives a lot to be grateful for. My Personal Plumber wants you to enjoy the coming months without worry of what could happen.....

WINTER IS COMING

  • Check your water heaters shut off valve and your whole house shut off valve. Make sure they are in working condition.
  • Be sure you know where to locate all shut off valves in your home or business.

Water is definitely one resource to be thankful for but when it becomes intrusive or one big surprise it can take away from the holiday fun and even your pocket book.

Take a look at the videos below. Jim wants you to know what to look for...

Do you know how to turn off your water heater in case of an emergency? Look at this video and let Jim, your personal plumber, show you how to fall into action when the need arises. You got this!

Did you know not everyone has a whole house shut off valve? That's correct! If you don't have a whole house shut off valve, we recommend installing one. If you shut your water off at meter you will need to contact your local water company or Jim, your very own personal plumber, to shut your water off. It might cost you a little in the beginning, but it will save you a lot more in the long run.

(True Story)

I will tell you even as a plumber’s wife accidents happen. I knew exactly where our whole house shut off was located and still, I fumbled. A water pipe broke during an install in our attic and well I ran around like a turkey forgetting everything that had been drilled into my head. The installer ran to the water heater to shut that down. Well, believe it or not that pipe to the shut off was hit and broke. The water that was spraying in the attic was not spraying in the garage. Water was everywhere and all over our moving boxes that had not been open yet. Of course, after a frantic phone call to my personal plumber I was able to shut down the water to the house. This seemed like forever and it was only a few moments. But water is powerful and moves fast.

I thought I was prepared for anything and could work under pressure. He He!

I have cut myself some slack as we did just move in the day before. However, I thought I was going to be served on a platter for Thanksgiving. Grateful to have a husband who is a Plumber with a since of humor.
