I am writing to wish you a happy Father's Day, coming off the many celebrations we had across our great city. A day which honors the happiness and strength that Father's give to their children and to their families every single day. As the proud Father of two young girls, I know that being a parent is not easy. But it is important to know that your hard work has true meaning. Dad's everywhere do a ton of work to make sure their families are stable and supported. They are a big part of their children's lives. And by doing so they show the courage, strength and hard work that is takes to raise a child.

This reliability and role model that Fathers and involved parents provide are precious to children everywhere. Present and involved Fathers help build the foundations of a strong family, which is the beginning of a successful and happy life. And for those single parents that must play the role of both mother and father, the positive influence that you provide makes an immeasurable difference to your children: you should be honored every day, and especially so on this one.

I hope that each of you had a great day with your families and celebrated the parents in your life and all that they meant or continue to mean to you.
