June 2023

Is it June already?

It’s hard to capture the beauty & majesty of our wildflower gardens!

The days are flying by and soon it will officially be summer – astrologically speaking. I know that the Memorial Day weekend is considered the beginning of summer, but I like to confirm it on the Summer Solstice. Seems more official that way. Do you agree?

We don’t have any specific vacation plans in place. We are just going to hang out with the grandkids whenever we can. I know – not very exciting but that’s where we are these days.

Damaged Man

The Story behind the song!

I find it interesting that, when I am feeling low, I tend to write sad songs that sound happy. Damaged Man is no different. How do I explain this? I’m not really sure. I know we all experience loss in our lives but it’s when it happens that makes a huge difference in how we respond. Many of you know that I lost my mother when I was 4½ years old. That was a very long time ago. I was way too young to understand how to deal with her loss and occasionally my younger self makes himself emotionally known to me. When that happens, it’s up to me to find words to capture his feelings.

That’s basically where this song started, and it grew from there.

What’s Happening at RpT’s Library

Emma Jane Conley just finished her vocal performance on I Love You. It’s ready to go to mastering and Linda has finished all the graphics. I will post a link to the finished product in the July Issue.

I started working on the You’re Mine background vocal arrangements with my brilliant friend, Kristin deWitt. We hope to have them finished in the next few weeks. I promise to take a picture of both of us rehearsing. I always forget.

Here’s a short link to the song Roxi Copeland and I have been working on - Angel of the Diner

I completed My Father’s Son last year in honor of my father, Richard Frank Tutaj. Here is the link for the lyric video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEI0qLRHC2A
