NEWS & UPDATES | July 31, 2020
Dear Friend,

Today we celebrate with the whole church the feast of St. Ignatius Loyola. Here on the East coast, we mark the unification of our two Jesuit provinces (Maryland and USA Northeast) into the USA East Province.

As we mark this historic day, we at the Office of Ignatian Spirituality give thanks for the leadership of outgoing Provincials Fr. John Cecero, SJ, and Fr. Bob Hussey, SJ, whose vision for a coordinated ministry of Ignatian spirituality gave rise to the creation of OIS. We owe them a great debt of gratitude.

And we are delighted to welcome Fr. Joseph O'Keefe, SJ, as our new provincial. We wish him many blessings as he takes on this new role and look forward to working closely with him in the years ahead.

The teaching and example of St. Ignatius Loyola lay out a pathway to God that is practical, prayerful, and radically rooted in Christ. As we celebrate his feast, let us rejoice at the great gift St. Ignatius left us, and commit ourselves once again to following the Lord in his footsteps, ever seeking the greater glory of God. Below you will find several offerings to help you on your journey.

If you missed our bilingual prayer service last night, "One Ignatian Community," I invite you to watch the video here.

And finally, I encourage you to consider supporting the ministry of our Jesuit retreat houses through a live fundraising event this Sunday. Click here for details.

Blessings for a wonderful feast day!
